My designs are very different now from what they were 30 years ago and I've loved both.<br><br>I tend to shy away from boxwood and use dwarf versions of Japanese holly (Ilex crenata) instead. It is more disease resistant in the soggy Pacific Northwest, doesn't small like cats piss when crushed (!) and few people can tell the difference (Ilex has alternate leaves while Buxus has opposite).
